While one in 30 women dies of breast cancer, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute reports that one in four dies of heart disease. Most Americans eat so badly,we get 7% of our calories from soft drinks, more than we do from vegetables; the top food group by caloric intake is 'sweets'; and one-third of [the] nation's adults are now obese.The average person is having a bowel movement maybe every other day... if that!!! You should have a nice bowel movement TWICE a day...a nice soft olive greenish long ones..not hard dark brown ball shaped ones! WE ARE TOXIC and not eliminating properly!

Simply by eating less pasta or bread and more veggies, you could lose a dress or pants size in a year. "You can save from 100-200 calories if you reduce the portion of starch on your plate and increase the amount of vegetables," says Cynthia Sass, RD, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.

If you have to eat pasta, switch to whole grain pasta with
 tomatoe/veggie sauce, not creamy sauces!Use brown rice instead of white. Switch to whole-wheat pasta, whole-wheat flour whole-wheat breads and whole-grain crackers instead of regular white versions.1 cup brown rice = 3g fiber

Fatty fish, such as salmon, is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Studies suggest this substance may protect against depression. While the extent of the link is uncertain, omega-3 fatty acids offer a wide range of other benefits, including heart health. Besides fish, sources of omega-3 include nuts and leafy, dark green vegetables.To keep cortisol and adrenaline in check, make friends with fatty fish. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish like salmon and tuna, can prevent surges in stress hormones and protect against heart disease. For a steady supply, aim to eat three ounces of fatty fish at least twice a week. Always get Alaskan Wild caught salmon.

 
Whole Grains.
 
Carbs may be the foe of fad diets, but they're vital for boosting energy and mood. They are the body's preferred source of fuel, plus they raise serotonin levels. The key is to avoid sweets, which cause blood sugar to spike and plummet, leading to fatigue and moodiness. Instead, turn to whole grains like whole-wheat bread, brown rice, and cereal. The body absorbs whole grains more slowly, keeping blood sugar and energy levels stable.
 
 
Another nutrient that may reduce the risk of depression is folate. Like omega-3 fatty acids, folate is found in leafy green vegetables, including spinach and romaine lettuce. Legumes, nuts, and citrus fruits are also good sources of folate.
 
 
LEGUMES
Fiber is an energy stabilizer. It slows digestion, providing a more steady supply of energy throughout the day. Boost your fiber intake by eating beans, whole fruits, vegetables, whole-grain breads, and whole-grain cereals.
THE BEAN LIST
1. Red beans - top antioxidant bean containing more antioxidants than blueberries when compared gram-per-gram. Reds are also the top bean source of iron.

2. Kidney beans - second ranking antioxidant bean on the USDA's list, and are also a top fibre source.

3. Black-eyed beans - these beans contain more calcium than any other bean, as well as being a source of folate and magnesium.

4. Black beans - in addition to ranking among the best antioxidant bean sources, black beans are the top bean source of magnesium.

5. Pinto beans - the top bean source of selenium, they are also ranked higher than the blueberry in their antioxidant power.
 
Remember, many canned beans are high in added salt, look out for the 'no added salt' versions, and always rinse throughly with cold water before adding to your recipes.
 
 
Dehydration and fatigue go hand-in-hand. Some studies suggest even mild dehydration can slow the metabolism and sap your energy. The solution is simple - drink plenty of water or other unsweetened beverages at regular intervals.

The Power:  Limonene, furocoumarins and vitamin C, all of which help prevent cancer. A wedge has 2 calories, 0 fat and 0 fiber. Buy a few of each and squeeze over salads, fish, beans and vegetables for fat free flavor
 
 
Another way to stay hydrated and energized is to eat fluid-filled foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Skip dry packaged snacks like pretzels in favor of apple wedges or celery. Other hydrating foods include oatmeal and pasta, which swell up with water when cooked.

Hydrating and refreshing, ripe watermelon also has plenty of a powerful antioxidant, glutathione. Known to help strengthen the immune system so it can fight infection, glutathione is found in the red pulpy flesh near the rind."
 

A handful of almonds may shore up your immune system from the effects of stress. A recommended 1/4 cup serving carries nearly 50% of the daily recommended amount of vitamin E, which helps boost the immune system. And they have riboflavin and niacin, B vitamins that may help you bounce back from the effects of stress.
 

Grapefruits have a good amount of vitamin C. But science has yet to prove that you can easily get enough vitamin C through foods alone, without supplementation, to help treat cold and flu. However, grapefruit is packed with flavonoids -- natural chemical compounds that have been found to increase immune system activation. Dislike grapefruits? Try oranges or tangerines."It is said that eating a grapefruit before each meal helps you to cut calorie intake in the meal itself, possibly because it slightly lowers blood sugar and makes participants feel more satisfied. Easy to find at the grocery store and incorporate into meals, broccoli is an immune-boosting basic. Plus, it's full of nutrients that protect your body from damage. When it comes to diet and in this case, juicing, it's not a good idea to have beet juice or to eat beets every day. In fact, it's not good to eat or juice the same foods  every day.Why? The body can begin to have an allergic reaction to food when they are eaten 4 or more days in a row. Also make sure you juice beets with, apples, carrots or cucumbers. It is best to juice beets with other fruits/vegetables. Also beets are rich in calcium, so try not to juice or eat items high in calcium such as broccoli after drinking your beet juice.The best juice is freshly made. It is best to dilute fruit juices 25-50% with distilled water.  Freshly made, full-strength juice is concentrated and should be considered a meal.

 ALL ABOUT THE BAMBOO  WHISK
 
Using a chasen to whisk Matcha helps to aerate and oxygenate it, thereby allowing all its potent vitamins, minerals, catechins, plant fiber, etc., to be activated - become more easily absorbed and assimilated faster into the body, in a hot liquid form.  This whisking action softens Matcha's dramtically robust, tangy flavour sensation and green colour to a more creamy texture and a pale green, bubbly body.  Matcha tends to become slightly sweeter, when it's whisked with a chasen and its numerous health benefits are obviously magnified with the rapid addition of air, making it more active and appealing. 
 
1. Before using the chasen for the first time, it should be soaked in boiling/hot water, covering its tines, for at least 10  minutes, to allow them to become more flexible to use.  (Because bamboo is a natural plant, it is porous and brittle, when it's not moist and the tines of the chasen can easily break off, if it's not allowed to absorb water -  always inspect your chasen first, before preparing your tea and if any tines are damaged or loose, remove them.)   For subsequent use, the chasen needs to be soaked only for a few minutes, until the tines feel flexible enough to whisk, to prevent breakage.
 
2. Once the appropriate amount of Matcha green tea powder and then hot water has been added to the tea bowl (cha wan), the cha wan must be stabilized with the left hand and thumb, on the rim and the chasen (in the right hand) is used to slowly, at first, whisk the Matcha, in an "M" or vertical pattern, from the bottom of the bowl and as you slowly raise the chasen to the surface of the tea, continue whisking, faster and faster, until a lovely, pale green foam appearsover the surface. (It should ideally take only 1 to 2 minutes to achieve this frothy state and oxygenates or oxidizes the sensitive, fresh, organic green tea powder.  This process helps make Matcha's vital, super nutrients more bio-available to naturally support and detoxify the body and it changes its flavour - the Matcha becomes  softer, creamier and slightly sweeter.)
 
3. After you make your tea, the chasen, cha wan, cha shaku (bamboo tea scoop) and all tea tools should be immediately and thoroughly rinsed, with boiling hot water, using NO soap/cleanser and only a very soft cloth.  (Never put any of your bamboo tea utensils or ceramic cha wan in the dishwasher or let them soak in water.)   It's crucial that the chasen and all bamboo utensils be left out to completely and naturally air-dry, for at least one day, not stored in any cupboard/drawer or plastic container, because bamboo has the tendancy to attract mold, if it's prematurely stored.)
